WALTER WINCHELL
Walter Winchell was a very popular, influential and legendary newspaper columnist of the 1930s and 1940s, and he served as the basis for J.J. Hunsucker in The Sweet Smell of Success (which was originally written by Ernest Lehman, who had worked for Winchell in the 1930s). Winchell also had a popular radio show, and his voice was incredibly distinctive, and when The Untouchables became a TV show, Winchell was chosen to narrate the show in his distinctive style! He passed away in 1972 at the age of 74.
