HARRY S. TRUMAN
Harry S. Truman was President of the United States from 1945 - 1953. He succeeded President Franklin Delano Roosevelt when he died in office and was elected for another term in 1948. He was a no nonsense President from Missouri, and he is best remembered for firing General Douglas MacArthur, and there was a famous one-man show about him called "Give 'Em Hell, Harry". Truman passed away in 1972 at the age of 88.
