The Platters were a black African American vocal group from the 1950s to 1970, when they broke up (but various reformed versions have continued performing throughout the years). The act went through several personnel changes, with the most successful incarnation comprising of Tony Williams, David Lynch, Paul Robi, Herb Reed, and Zola Taylor
