PRINCE (personality)
Prince (born Prince Rogers Nelson) was a pop rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) singer, songwriter, musician, and actor from the 1970s to the 2010s. He sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time, won seven Grammy Awards, and an Academy Award for the film Purple Rain. The Purple Rain soundtrack album was recorded with his new backing band 'the Revolution' and was a major commercial achievement. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and Rolling Stone ranked him at number 27 on its list of 100 Greatest Artists, "the most influential artists of the rock & roll era". Prince passed away in 2016 at the age of 57 from an accidental drug overdose.
