SHIRLEY KNIGHT
Shirley Knight was an actress from the 1950s to the 2010s. After years of TV roles and a few minor movies, she was noticed in "The Group" in 1966, and had the lead in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Rain People" in 1969, but her career never really took off, and she continued to do several TV and offbeat roles. In later years, she gained a substantial amount of weight and had a memorable role on TV's "Law and Order" as a Betty Broderick-like character. Some of her movies include: Sweet Bird Of Youth (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Petulia, Dark At The Top Of The Stairs (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), and Beyond the Poseidon Adventure. She passed away in 2020 at the age of 83.
