MARIO LANZA
Mario Lanza was an actor and opera singer from the 1940s to the 1950s. Some of his roles included: The Great Caruso, The Toast of New Orleans, Because You're Mine, and Arrivederci Roma. Note that he was the first great opera star who became a pop star as well, and hew as a worldwide phenomenon in the early 1950s. But he had major drinking problems, and he was fired by MGM in 1954, and just five years later, he passed away.
