ANTON WALBROOK

Anton Walbrook was an Austrian actor from the 1910s to the 1950s. His birth name was Adolf Anton Wilhelm Wohlbruck, and he appeared in many 1930s German movies, billed as "Adolf Wohlbruck", but he fled Nazi Germany in 1937 and settled in England, where he understandably changed his name! He appeared in many famous English movies, including three with Powell & Pressburger. Some of his movies include: The Red Shoes, The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, and 49th Parallel. He passed away in 1967 at the age of 70.
