EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS
Edgar Rice Burroughs was one of the best selling authors from the 1910s to the 1950s. He is best remembered for his 1914 book "Tarzan of the Apes", and its many sequels, but he also had several other successful series of adventure novels that sold in the millions, and of course have spawned hundreds of movie adaptations. He passed away in 1950 at the age of 74.
