An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Believe Me, Xantippe, the 1918 Donald Crisp silent romantic crime screwball comedy ("By Frederick Ballard"; a wacky story of a rich young man who bets his friends $20,000 he can commit a crime and not be arrested for a full year; he forges a check and then heads west, and the law is pursuing him, but he evades them successfully, but on the last day of the year, a sheriff's daughter discovers his identity and "arrests" him, but because she is not a true law officer, he wins his bet, and he wins the girl too!) starring Wallace Reid, Ann Little, Ernest Joy, Henry Woodward, Noah Beery Sr., and James Cruze. Note that the movie has this unusual name, because the lead character keeps saying it to many people throughout! We were unable to discover why this is. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster was lightly folded in half an extra time, and there were tiny areas of paper loss at several crossfolds. There were some creases, tears, and surface paper loss on several foldlines. There were pinholes, creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed on to a very thin linen, and you can see some signs of the restoration, more so in the border areas. Learn More about condition grades
