eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result k488 WOMAN'S PAST linen one-sheet movie poster '15 Nance O'Neil, Macy Date Sold 10/4/2005Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (24 3/4" x 38 1/4") (Learn More) A Woman's Past, the 1915 Frank Powell silent romantic love triangle crime melodrama ("I will give you a position"; "Behind the door"; "A letter from father."; "The editor's new favorite"; "You with my sons wife"; "Forced to work for her brutal master"; "Lawyer for the defense"; "I know you cannot forgive me"; "By Captain John King") starring Nance O'Neil, Carleton Macy, Clifford Bruce, and Alfred Hickman. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 24 3/4" x 38 1/4". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly significant defects that were not restored at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would surely benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Given that the poster measures 24 3/4" x 38 1/4", it seems likely it has had most of its blank borders neatly trimmed off (I highly doubt there is another example of this poster to compare it to!). The poster had a great number of tears and creases throughout the image area. The person who linenbacked the poster seems to have pretty much made no attempt to improve on those tears and creases, although they did do some paint restoration in the image. If I owned this poster, I would have it re-backed, although it surprisingly displays fairly well, although you do see its many defects. In any event, please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects, or are willing to pay to have the poster re-restored! Learn More about condition grades
